The 2010 Samcheong-ro Culture Festival will take place on Samcheong Boulevard and in the adjacent neighborhoods of Sagan, Anguk, Sogyeok, Songhyeon, Hwa, Palpan, and Samcheong from Oct. 30th to Nov. 14th. The Samcheong-ro area is a major tourist destination in Seoul and is often crowded with visitors seeking its diverse selection of restaurants, cafes, galleries and shopping.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon of the 30th in Samcheong Park and will present a wide array of performances such as daegeum sanjo (Korean flute music), royal court dance, and samulnori (traditional percussion quartet). Also on Saturday, ¡®Home Coming Day¡¯ events will be held for the past residents of this once highly-residential neighborhood. The festival will also have programs and activities designed to share traditional Korean culture with foreign participants such as making your own hand-painted fans or visiting Seodang (a traditional school). Art exhibitions will be held as well in 13 nearby galleries.
